Who I Am and Why I Can Help You

If you’re wondering why you should listen to me and what makes me an authority on helping birthing people and their partners feel informed and confident during their hospital births … Fair questions! Here’s the answer:

My name is Kaylie Groenhout. Besides being a mom of three little ones myself and balancing a full-time career supporting families through my thriving doula agency, I’m also a certified childbirth educator and mental health proponent. My work as a doula and childbirth educator alone has helped hundreds of pregnant people and their families feel calm, nurtured, safe, and confident as they prepare for their hospital births. In fact, the very insights and challenges found in this book are the leading contributors to how my partner and I were able to have incredible births with our own three children, including two in the hospital. The real transformation, though, happened when I began building relationships with hospital staff in Labor and Delivery.

After years of working in a busy, metropolitan region with some of the nation’s most highly-regarded OBs and midwives as well as in hospitals holding nearly 50% C-section rates, I’ve discovered what does and doesn’t work to help birthing people feel safe, confident, empowered, and satisfied with their experiences in the hospital. And believe me, there’s a lot of misinformation and “mom-shaming” online, in TV and movies, and in social circles. While it might seem harmless, it can actually put you in harm’s way. I want to help you avoid that. That’s why I created the first, most comprehensive eBook on hospital birth without an agenda, the benefits, the how-tos, and simple exercises to get you on the right track. You don’t have to “just see what happens” or “wing it.” Not when it comes to birth.

Introducing …

This eBook is all about clear, meaningful, effective strategies that will help you feel more prepared and deliberate about big birth decisions.

I’ve designed this book to be super easy to pick up and jump in regardless of where you are in your birth planning or research.

In addition to untangling and interpreting your birth preferences, you’ll get specific action steps in each concise but powerful chapter.

And so much more…

Why This Book and Why Now?

There’s a sea of childbirth books and blogs out there. Many of them are geared towards birthing a particular way or in a setting outside of a hospital. Some of them are painfully outdated, some are written with only a traditional nuclear family in mind, and others, while helpful in explaining the physiology of birth, just don’t really help prepare you in other crucial ways.

But… “The Better Hospital Birth Solution” offers clarity, depth, and proven strategies that you simply won’t find in other books out there.

And look – if you’ve read this far, you probably know that time’s of the essence. Each day, you’re getting closer to this monumental experience. While birth is normal and natural, it’s also unpredictable. There are ways to feel confident and prepared for birth while still accepting “the unknown.” And that’s one of the biggest reasons I wrote this book: I wanted to make these exercises and techniques that I use regularly with clients available to anyone regardless of location, budget, or desire to work one-on-one.

You could work with me or another doula for, on average, $1200 and have months of support. And that’s an awesome opportunity if you have it …

But for those who don’t have that chance or it isn’t the path you want to take, you can spend $25 today and have an easy-to-read, powerful resource that you can come back to as much as you want, whenever you need it, prenatally and even in birth.

Absolutely! I have no agenda here other than to help you have a really great birth. Some people report feeling disassociated from the birth and/or their care providers when they’ve used an epidural. This will maintain those open lines of communication and help you feel present.

Absolutely! The pain management tools people use are very personal choices. Often times, clients tell me they’re worried about having to make decisions or defend themselves when they’re in a lot of pain. They’ll say, “I don’t want to be pressured into getting an epidural I don’t want.” The core of this book is to help you learn, prenatally, how to advocate for yourself, and this is one of those situations. I can also help you make a birth plan that succinctly and respectfully communicates your preferences to your care providers.

The Better Hospital Birth Solution is an eBook you can read on your laptop, tablet, e-reader, or phone. When you complete your purchase, you’ll receive a professionally-designed, high-quality PDF to download.

The time is now to tackle your anxieties about labor and delivery. I’m so excited to share this incredible resource with you. I know it can help you feel better about your pregnancy and impending birth experience as soon as you start reading.

You deserve to feel safe, cared for, and listened to.

You deserve to have a powerful, successful, positive hospital birth – however you define it.

Go for it!
