Perfect for first-time parents! This comprehensive childbirth class is one full day (eight hours including a lunch break). It will help you explore your options and ensure you are informed, prepared, and confident about birthing the way you desire. Topics include:

  • Nutrition and weight gain
  • Prenatal testing
  • Common pregnancy complaints and relief
  • Communicating with your partner
  • Exploring options and writing a birth plan
  • Packing your birth bag
  • Anatomy of birth and fetal positioning
  • Medical and non-medical pain relief options
  • Comfort measures and positions for labor and birth
  • Signs of labor and labor progression
  • Interventions
  • Baby’s first hour

Each family will receive “Preparing for Birth”, an 80-page comprehensive guidebook that includes stages of labor, comfort measures, interventions, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and the basics of breastfeeding.
