Amanda is a holistic birth and postpartum doula. After giving birth to her two sons naturally, Amanda was humbled and empowered by what her body could do. These experiences inspired her to help other women tap into their inner strength, before and after birth, no matter how they choose to do so. There are a plethora of opportunities to help guide parents throughout their new journies, and she believes that consistently supporting them without judgment during this powerful time is incredibly therapeutic in coping with the challenges of parenthood.
Amanda supports all types of families in birthing however they chose and without judgment. Most important to her is making sure the birthing person’s and partner’s (if applicable) needs are met as much as possible. She also likes making sure clients are set up for success in the postpartum period – whether that’s working with her as a postpartum doula, providing them with extra breastfeeding support, or simply providing vetted referrals. She sees the postpartum period as an underestimated, intense time that parents are often unprepared.
Amanda recently relocated from Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two sons. She has supported a wide variety of births – from inductions and C-sections to unmedicated hospital and homebirths – and a culturally-diverse clientele.
She has a Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation and served as a therapist for ten years before entering the birth community. Amanda is trained in Vinyasa and Prenatal Yoga and believes it’s one of many ways to prepare for labor as well as a way to create a community for new mothers. In her free time, Amanda loves hiking outside with her family, gardening, and running.
