Lois Ecker

As a seasoned newborn professional Lois’s personality is one of a calm sense, nurturing, and happy. Having over 40 years experience working with newborns, babies are her love and passion and she posses the extraordinary ability to relate to them and provide them with a sense of security, warmth, love and affection.
After receiving her postpartum doula training in California and working for Santa Monica Hospital, Lois moved back to the East Coast to be closer to my family. While helping families in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia, she received her CLC certification. Lois craved more lactation training to be able to help more families with difficult latch problems and babies labeled “failure to thrive”. She then received her IBCLC designation and has to date consulted with over three hundred families. In addition Lois has been instrumental in shaping the doula program at five major hospitals in Maryland and Consulted with the University of Michigan Hospital in developing their new doula program.
As a postpartum doula and IBCLC (among many others credentials), Lois is amazing at identifying slight tweaks in the routine or care that will benefit the entire family.
“While I am in your home you will feel very relaxed with no cares or worries. I will provide you with evidence-based information for you to make informed decisions regarding the care of your newborn. It is my goal to make your life easier, calmer, and have a happy well-adjusted baby.”
